Recycled road planings, also known as road scalpings or road scrapings are economical and cost effective. They are generally 0/40mm therefore compacting down over time or when rolled to create a stable sub-base or a relatively hard surface. Ideal for access roads, tracks and car parks. They are a cheaper alternative to quarried sub-base products.
As dug ballast, is what has been taken off disused railway tracks. The size starts from 70mm down to dust. It is a perfect recycled product for a base layer for a track, access roads for a fill material. It is a cheaper alternative to quarried base layers products. In combination with road planings as a sub base it would finish off the job.
